VISION AND VALUES

Vision

To see people discover the life Jesus gives, live it fully, and give it away for the good of Camberley and beyond.

Our vision is to see people discover the life Jesus offers, live it fully, and give it away—so that all may experience the best life found in Him.

We long to be a church that gives itself away: to God in wholehearted devotion, to one another in Christ-like love, and to the people of Camberley and beyond in generous service and courageous witness.

Planted in the heart of the Watchett’s ward, we want to help bring people together and build a community where everyone can flourish. We commit the best of our time, energy, and creativity to see God’s kingdom transform the spiritual, social, and physical landscape of our town—so that hope is restored, relationships strengthened, and lives renewed.

Values

St Mary’s Values

Rooted in Jesus, we discover the life He offers.
Growing together, we learn to live it.
Sharing His life with the world, we joyfully give it away.
“I have come that you might have life, and have it in all its fullness.” — John 10:10

DISCOVER IT — Life With God

These values shape our life with God and keep us centred on Jesus. He promised the gift and power of the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…”

Scripture – We listen to God.
We allow God’s Word to guide us, shape us, and renew us.

Prayer – We walk with God.
We seek His presence, power, and leading in every season of life.

Holy Spirit – We are empowered by God.
We depend on the Spirit for guidance, transformation, gifting, and courage.

Fasting – We make space for God.
We lay things down so that Jesus can take His rightful place in our lives.

LIVE IT — Life With One Another

These values form the heart of our life together as a church family. Each person is unique and precious to God, as Ephesians 2:10 reminds us: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works…” We reflect His image and creativity.

Community – We live life together.
We support, encourage, and build one another up in faith and love.

Generosity – We give joyfully.
We offer our time, gifts, and resources in response to God’s grace.

Sabbath – We rest in God.
We practise rhythms of rest, renewal, worship, and delight.

Creativity – We express God’s image.
We celebrate God-given imagination and artistry, using our gifts to inspire and bless one another.

GIVE IT AWAY — Life With the World

These values send us out in love to join God’s mission, especially among those on the margins. We seek to live out Micah 6:8: “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy…”

Service – We bless others.
We use our gifts to meet needs and reveal the love of Jesus.

Witness – We share the hope of Jesus.
We live and speak the good news wherever He has placed us.

Hospitality – We welcome all.
We create spaces of warmth, belonging, and grace for every person.

Justice – We pursue God’s heart for the world.
We stand with the vulnerable, challenge what is wrong, and seek God’s kingdom of fairness, dignity, and peace.

Racial Justice at St Mary’s

At St Mary’s, we are committed to growing into a greater reflection of heaven — a community where everyone is valued, respected, and seen.

We long to see a multi-ethnic and multicultural church that reflects the heart of God and the beauty of His kingdom, where every person can say with confidence, “I truly belong.”

Rooted in the vision of Revelation 7:9 — “a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb” — we celebrate the richness of God’s diverse creation and seek to reflect His kingdom here on earth.

We recognise the need to confront racism and prejudice in all its forms and to pursue freedom from anything that divides or diminishes others. Together, we are learning to listen, to love, and to live as a community that honours the image of God in everyone.
