Serving is one of the joys of belonging in the church family! Everything that happens at St Mary’s is possible only because of our amazing teams of volunteers who choose to love and serve our community.
Sunday Teams
We’d love to invite you to use your gifts and passions to play your part. It’s a brilliant way to grow and make friends along the way, too!
Sundays and the events we run wouldn’t be possible without our amazing volunteers! We encourage everyone to get involved once a month.
There are lots of different teams to suit your gifts, and it's a great way to meet people and get more involved.

Sunday Teams
Our Sunday teams help create an atmosphere where people of all ages feel welcomed and able to meet with God. Generally, team members will serve on a rota once a month.
Welcome and Sunday Café
Our Welcome Team hosts people and helps them connect, and the Café team serves hot drinks and snacks.
Set up and Pack Down
Help with the hands-on part of creating a welcome space, like setting up chairs and equipment. There is set up before the 10.30 am service and pack down afterwards
Production
Our Production Team enables everyone who joins us (both in-person and online) to hear, see, and to be part of what is happening. This includes our Sound, Visuals and Livestream teams.
Worship
The St Mary’s Worship Team leads us in our collective expression of adoration, prayer and praise to God. One of the key ways we do this is through sung worship. We’re particularly looking for experienced musicians.
Kids
Our Kids Team creates a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can learn about Go’s love. We currently have a designated area at the back of the church so they can be with mum, dad or a carer.
Youth
The Youth Team serves our young people at St Mary’s through things like Monday Night Youth, Prayer support especially through those exams, gathering and mentoring.
Community and Outreach
We want to reflect the love of Jesus in our local community. We do this by partnering with organisations or running initiatives that serve and love our neighbours, getting to know them and investing in their well-being.

Community Cafe
The monthly fundraising Community Café is a chance to meet together with a good coffee / pot of tea and some cake and raise money for a good and local cause. This takes place every second Saturday of the month
To help these Saturdays to run smoothly, we need your help!
Tots & Dots
A friendly and welcoming toddlers group for under 5’s and their parents or carers.
Toys, drinks, snacks and crafts on Mondays in term time 9.30 am – 11.00 am.
Alpha Team
Alpha is a series of dinners and discussions that freely explore the Christian faith. Our team makes this happen by setting up, welcoming guests, hosting discussions, or helping with food prep.
