Yvonne Parr, St Mary’s Pastoral Assistant
We are very pleased to announce that Yvonne Parr will be joining the team at St Mary’s in September as a Pastoral Assistant. Yvonne is a member of St Mary’s Church family and felt God was calling her to a particular ministry within the church.
Service of Authorisation
A Service of Authorisation was held at Charterhouse School Chapel in Godalming on Wednesday 6th July 2016 and family and friends from St Mary’s church family came along to the service. The Bishop of Guildford, Andrew Watson, authorised the newly trained pastoral assistants for ministry within their own parishes and on Sunday 10th July Revd Andrew Knowles commissioned Yvonne for ministry at St Mary’s. Throughout her training Yvonne was mentored by Ruth Walker, Associate Minister at St Mary’s. Yvonne thanked both Andrew and Ruth for their support over this past year.
Congratulations to Yvonne and well done!
Bishop Andrew and the new Pastoral Assistants for the Diocese of Guildford
St Mary’s Church is looking for enthusiastic individuals to help with our “e-Ministry.”
What’s e-Ministry you ask? It is an opportunity to spread Christ’s love and messages digitally.
As our Church grows and activities in the Community expand, our Website will become THE place to get event info, see what’s happening, and check out photos from the latest get-togethers.
It’s a huge task for a single person to undertake and as such we’d love your help. If you have experience of blogging, facebooking, tweeting, sharing pics, etc … we’d love you to get in touch!
Some of the things we’re looking for are:
“Barnabas Slot” – we’d love for you to share your experiences with everyone to encourage others.
Regular Events – Do you organise a regular event, such as the walking group, Oasis coffee stop etc and want to let people know what you’ve been up to or what’s happening at future meet ups?
Community Support – Do you help with a local Charity or Organisation and want to spread the word and provide vital information to all?
Keeping our Church and Community “in the know” requires digital troops on the ground… at the ready to get those photos, event details, and testimonies posted.
You don’t need to be familiar with blogging as we will be providing a workshop (or two) to provide you with all the knowledge and tools you need to create great articles.
Please use the contact form below to share your interest with us and someone from our web development team will reach out to you directly!
