Remembrance Services at St Mary’s
Please join us here at St Mary’s as, along with the entire nation, we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the WWI Armistice. We remember all who fought, and particularly those who died, in both World Wars and in all other conflicts since.
During our Remembrance services the names of those from St Mary’s parish, who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, will be read aloud and a wreath will be laid in their memory.
Members of our local uniformed organisations will join us for our services on Remembrance Sunday, and refreshments will be served in the hall after both services.
Collections at both Remembrance Sunday services will be taken for the work of The Royal British Legion.
Tuesday 6th November 2018 8pm
Surrey Heath Singers will be singing at St Mary’s Church as part of an Armistice Pilgrimage, marking the 100th anniversary of the WWI Armistice. This quiet and moving meditation will include poems by Wilfred Owen and Thomas Hardy and music by John Ireland, John Stainer and Mark Blatchly.
Entrance is free and refreshments will be available.
